Late Summer at Designs by Lee: Fall Is Starting to Arrive

Late August is one of those in between times at the garden center. Summer isn’t over yet, but little signs of fall are starting to show up everywhere.

Here at Designs by Lee, our first mums and ornamental cabbage are arriving, while the garden center is still full of plenty of late summer color, houseplants, pottery, trees, shrubs and more.

There’s Still Plenty of Time to Plant

If you’ve been putting off a landscaping project or have a few empty spots in the yard, don’t count the season out yet.

Late summer and early fall can be a great time to plant many trees, shrubs and perennials. Cooler temperatures are on the way, which can make establishing new plants a little easier than during the hottest part of summer.

Our team is always happy to help you choose plants that work for your space, whether you’re looking for privacy, color, something low maintenance or just a fresh update.

Summer Sales Are Still Going On

It’s also a great time to stop in and take advantage of our end of summer plant sales.

You’ll find seasonal savings throughout the garden center, including select annuals, outdoor tropicals, trees, shrubs, perennials, pottery and more.

Inventory changes quickly this time of year, so every visit looks a little different.

The First Signs of Fall Are Here

Yes, we know, it still feels like summer!

But our first mums and ornamental cabbage have officially started arriving, with much more fall color coming over the next several weeks.

If you love decorating early, you can start adding a few fall touches now. If you’re not ready yet, don’t worry. We’ll continue bringing in seasonal plants and décor as we get closer to September and October.

Fall is always a busy season at Designs by Lee, and we’re already working on upcoming family events, seasonal activities, pop ups and more.
